Septic tank pumping software that ties every tank to the load, the manifest and the disposal site
Septic tank pumping is the scheduled removal of sludge and scum from an onsite septic tank and the lawful disposal of the septage that comes out of it. EPA says more than one in five households in the United States depend on a septic system, that a tank should be inspected at least every three years and pumped every three to five years, and that it is due when more than 25 percent of the liquid depth is sludge and scum. Neurobird holds the tank, the route, the load and the disposal record on one job.
Neurobird Septic Tank Pumping in short
- Hold the tank as a property record with location, size, lid depth, access notes and last service date
- Capture the load volume, the manifest and the receiving site at the truck rather than on a form afterwards
- Build the next route from tanks that are actually due instead of a spreadsheet sorted by hand
- 503.32 Domestic septage applied to agricultural land, forest or a reclamation site must have its pH raised to 12 or higher by alkali addition and held there for 30 minutes, with the site restrictions met. eCFR, 40 CFR 503.32(c)
- 25 percent EPA says a tank should be pumped when the scum layer is within six inches of the outlet, the sludge layer within 12 inches of it, or more than 25 percent of the liquid depth is sludge and scum. US EPA, how to care for your septic system
- Pricing runs 89 to 549 US dollars per month across 3 tiers. Early access is free.
What septic pumping contractors actually deal with
Why it stays broken
Pumping is a route business, a regulated waste business and a property record all at once. Route software knows stops and nothing about septage volumes, waste manifests live with the receiving plant, and the tank itself is a property fact that no system owns. So the useful part stays in a notebook and leaves when the driver does.
EPA recommends the average household septic system be inspected at least every three years and pumped every three to five years, and alternative systems with pumps or float switches once a year.
Recordkeeping - Commercial septic tank cleaners must record the location of all cleaned PSDSs or toilet units, the method of septage or waste disposal, and the volume of septage or waste disposed of for each trip.
A tank, as your route would work it
Tick a step to move a job from due to disposed and watch the next service date set itself.
Drag a job onto a driver to assign it.
Neurobird Septic Tank Pumping Dispatch Platform
One record per tank: where it is, how deep the lid sits, when it was last pumped, what came out, where that went and when it is due again. The route builds itself from the tanks that are due.
- 1Hold the tank as a property record with location, size, lid depth, access notes and last service date
- 2Capture the load volume, the manifest and the receiving site at the truck rather than on a form afterwards
- 3Build the next route from tanks that are actually due instead of a spreadsheet sorted by hand
- 4Keep the disposal record and licence paperwork a state inspector asks for in one place
What changes with Neurobird Septic Tank Pumping?
The same work, read left to right: how it runs today, and how it runs once the record is in one place.
| Today | With Neurobird Septic Tank Pumping |
|---|---|
| The tank location, the last pump date and the lid depth live in the head of the driver who has been there before | Hold the tank as a property record with location, size, lid depth, access notes and last service date |
| A load is disposed of at a plant that later disputes the volume, and the ticket that would settle it is in a truck cab | Capture the load volume, the manifest and the receiving site at the truck rather than on a form afterwards |
| Nobody knows which customers are due this season until somebody sorts a spreadsheet by date | Build the next route from tanks that are actually due instead of a spreadsheet sorted by hand |
Who is this for?
The same tank, three different operations.
You drive and you bill
The tank history is the business. You need it written down somewhere other than the cab of the truck.
You run routes and a yard
Loads, disposal sites and volumes have to reconcile at the end of the week. You need each load tied to the job that produced it.
You land apply septage
Land application carries its own rules and its own fees. You need the site, the volume and the treatment recorded per load.
How does Neurobird Septic Tank Pumping work?
Record the tank once
Location, size, lid depth and access notes attach to the property, so the second visit is not a rediscovery of the first.
Pump and manifest
Volume, condition, filter service and the receiving site are captured at the job, with the ticket photographed against that load.
Set the return
The next due date comes from the tank and the household, not from a rule of thumb, and the route picks it up when it arrives.
What the rules say about septage and pumping
Federal disposal standards, state licensing, and the figures that say a tank is due.
Domestic septage applied to agricultural land, forest or a reclamation site must have its pH raised to 12 or higher by alkali addition and held there for 30 minutes, with the site restrictions met.
eCFR, 40 CFR 503.32(c)EPA says a tank should be pumped when the scum layer is within six inches of the outlet, the sludge layer within 12 inches of it, or more than 25 percent of the liquid depth is sludge and scum.
US EPA, how to care for your septic systemIowa charges 150 dollars a year for a commercial septic tank cleaner licence for the first registered vehicle, 50 dollars for each additional vehicle, plus 7 dollars per 1,000 gallons of septage land applied.
Iowa DNR, septic tank cleaningEPA recommends inspection of the average household system at least every three years, with pumping typically every three to five years and yearly attention for systems with pumps or float switches.
US EPA, how to care for your septic systemMore than one in five households in the United States depend on a septic or small community cluster system to treat their wastewater.
US EPA, about septic systemsSeptic tank pumping software questions, answered
Key terms
- What is septage?
- Septage is the sludge, scum and liquid pumped out of a septic tank. Federal rules treat it as a regulated material: under 40 CFR 503.32 domestic septage applied to agricultural land, forest or a reclamation site must have its pH raised to 12 or higher and held there for 30 minutes, with site restrictions met.
How often should a tank be pumped?
EPA recommends inspection at least every three years and pumping every three to five years for a typical household system. The real trigger is measurement: pump when the sludge layer is within 12 inches of the outlet or more than 25 percent of the liquid depth is sludge and scum.
Does this replace our accounting software?
No. It sits beside it. Invoicing stays where it is. This holds the tank, the load, the manifest and the disposal site, which is the part that has to survive an inspection and a driver leaving.
Can it handle land application records?
Yes. Volume, treatment and site are recorded per load, which is what a land application programme and its per gallon fees are assessed on.
What happens when a driver leaves?
The tank record stays. Lid depth, access route, tank size and history belong to the property, not to whoever happened to drive there last.
